one "10" if you visit 3 or 4 bars.
Most guys are 3- 5, at best.
The question is: Are they a "5" because I'm jaded. Or am I jaded because they're all "3-5's."

Even so, unless those who are complaining about the looks of the present crop of boys happen to be 10's themselves, then it seems a little strange to me that they would be complaining about the looks of others.

Do you need glasses, since you cannot see the nice boys?

Then stop paying them, and concentrate on the Thais.
Hehehe....

The answer's obvious - your jaded !
I have to agree with Luvthai though - Pattaya bars seem to have been taken over by ladyboys with the odd muscle-Mary thrown in as an alternative. Totally off-putting for me in both respects !
Having said that, there are fortunately still enough guys around who do not fit those descriptions - maybe you just have to look a bit harder or further afield.

In the past few months, I have met three Thai guys cruising on the internet who used to work in gogo bars and several others who would have been working there before the internet.
All these guys now spend their time online, where they say they can make as much money or more in high season as in the bars, with a much easier life style away from the booze and smoke-filled bars, where a 6-7 day work week is still common.
Another interesting development is that some Thai guys, with live with farangs, and who have quit their bar jobs as a result, now find they can "cheat" on their farangs and make some added cash by making day time dates on the net. The farang heads to the beach and the bf heads out for his latest internet date. TIT: technology in Thailand

Right now I am dating with three boys who have a farang lover and they like to have some sex and money.
I just send them a mail and they come to visit me in my short time hotel room.
Can somebody give me the links to the best Thai dating sites.
Thanks.

While we sometimes do hear of incidents involving bar boys, those are relatively rare because they are much easier to track down if something happens.
I strongly urge anyone who hooks up with someone online to make sure he has his ID card when you meet, that he is of legal age, that the ID card is actually his and not one he borrowed or stole, and that your hotel desk staff checks the ID card and holds it until you personally accompany the boy to the desk or the desk clerk calls your room to make sure everything is ok before giving back the ID card. That is your only protection in case of trouble. The boys are well aware that these kinds of things happen and should have no objection to precautions. If one does, then that's the wrong boy and I would advise you to send him away immediately.
I believe most online hookups are perfectly safe and legitimate, but there is no need to take unnecessary risks.

You sound insatiable. Three boys coming over at the drop of a hat and you want more?

Gee, Hedda goes to a go-go bar and finds...crusty old prostitutes. What is the world coming to?
In the seven years that I've been visiting the commercial sex venues (although less frequently these days), I too have noticed the decline in the number of boys that I would consider attractive.
Rest assured that there hasn't been a mutation in the Thai genetic make up in the last twenty years bar, perhaps, a heightened numerical literacy from the deft use of ATMs. Khun Mae and Khun Paw in Isaarn and the impoverished North are still producing beauties, not ugly ducklings. However, as a result of budget air travel and greater exchange of information through the Internet, the swan-Leks have now spread their wings to upmarket establishments in Bangkok and neighbouring countries . In Kuala Lumpur alone, there are at least twenty naughty massage centres staffed mainly by Thai and mainland Chinese boys.
Some of the stars can also be found in a small but stable number of karaoke bars in Bangkok and Hat Yai that primarily cater to women. I've been a guest at a couple of these establishments and I wouldn't be exaggerating if I were to say that the 'waiters' there could pass off as catwalk models.
The ones with some English skills and business savvy often choose to work in Singapore or Hong Kong where the money is very good. They usually start off at a massage parlour or an escort agency where the in-pocket gratuity for sixty minutes of ‘complete service’ is 3,500Bt minimum. Once they've learnt the ropes and have a regular customer base, the smarter ones work independently. According to some of the boys, they like working in Singapore and Hong Kong as Asian customers are generally discreet and not into the “let’s-pretend-it’s-a-date” routine which they find boring and may attract unwanted attention from the authorities.
Rumour has it that you can even find Thai boys in Dubai now. I've yet to confirm this but it wouldn't surprise me if it were true; some of the Filipina, Indonesian and Thai cooks, housekeepers and nurses who work in the Arabian Gulf moonlight as 'ladies of the night'; it would have been only a matter of time before the boys caught on. I was told that back in the days when flights from Europe to the southern hemisphere had to stop over in the Mid East, many a trolley dolly would have his legs up in the air in a blue-eyed blink for a few thousand dinars from an Arab sheikh.
The Internet has also played a part in dispersing the 'superstars' among 'super-closeted' Chinese-Thai customers. Even the most modestly computer literate hustler, with the help of an enterprising Internet shop owner, can go online to cruise the many chat rooms or the very least put up a profile on the numerous personals boards. Prior to the Internet, it was almost impossible for these two disparate groups to meet; some of those lily-white Bangkok queens, who wouldn't be caught dead in a go-go or host bar, do love their sexy Isaarn serfs. It's not only Lady Chatterly who is besotted with her gardener.
Have the once pliable prossies become 'crusty' as dear Hedda so frankly put it or have we simply become more astute in the ways and means of Thai bar-boys? I think it's a combination of both. The supply of beautiful boys in any one locale appears to be shrinking and there seems to be no abatement of bleeding hearts coming to a sellers' market. The boys understand this; a starfish impression of lovemaking will still get them that 1,000Bt from the 'lust-disguised-as-charity' brigade. But, not every visitor to Thailand is a Hicksville sucker who will lavish 60,000Bt a month on a pair Patong pink pants. Some of us have had our individual sense of perspicacity honed from experience, acculturation and information gathered from forums like this. Unfortunately, our sharpened ability to spot the moss on the posse of prick teasers on display automatically limits our choices. Let's face it, dears, a thinking cap won't buy you a fantasy in the Land of Smiles - the going price is still a good dose of Viagra-driven jai dii enclosed in a big fat wallet.

I think I'll wander over to one of the thai boy boards and see if they are posting about how ugly the falang are getting. My guess is those boys have too much class to post such a topic.

I guess it won't be long until another "ghost" appears too. Some people have no shame.
