" Jordan's King Abdullah II has instructed the government to scrap two public holidays in a bid to boost productivity in the kingdom, state-run Petra news agency reported Thursday.

The king's birthday on January 30 and late King Hussein's birthday on November 14 should be scrapped from the list of public holidays starting this year . . .

"We found that my birthday and the birthday of my father, the late King Hussein, should be another two days of official work ... and hope that Jordanians can celebrate the two occasions with more productivity," he added.

The government has come under sharp criticism from economists and commentators in the kingdom, where 16 days are officially listed as public holidays."

One of the nice things about having a Monarchy is that the Nation get to celebrate and party on occasions such as Coronations, Weddings, Birthdays, Jubilees, Births etc.

Thais are well up on the Public Holidays charts and certaibnly know how to party and enjoy life.
