I did go there rather late after 10 p.m. and only loaded with an ancient very slow camera. The place was very packed and extremely hot and humid - especially for those wearing blond wigs. The boy contestants were charming and the fashion show very pleasant. Lots of roses were sold for the Mr Popular competition. Rob Scar sparkled in his twinkly jacket and slightly taller Rosie Bothways (Miss) co-hosted the evening with wit and humour.

My photos are nothing o be proud of. Click on the photo to enlarge or click on the 'Large photo square' top right for larger shots. available at:

It is usual for photographs to be allowed at Handsome man and fashion shows. The entrants are aware that this is the case and they may or may not be bar workers. Obviously one does not photograph audience members or any explicit shows by the bars.

I think that the difference between the two situations would be obvious.

Bit naughty WowPow - you break your own rules with the Pattaya Gay Festival and splash it all over the web

Who? What? Where? When ? How? I think you do me an injustice!

I have never posted any of my photos from an explicit bar show ( I don't have any) and I try to blurr out audience faces. If I have missed one please let me know and I will remove or alter. If I have been 'naughty' I apologize but I am unaware. I do sometimes pass on other peoples photos already in the public domain but I try to give them a credit.

Jomtiengayguide wrote on Sawatdee:

"The evening at EXXIT was pretty good and enjoyed by most, even though it was pretty warm (particularly inside). We had a total of 176 paying guests which was more than expected and created a few seating problems - Thank you to all who came.

Both the EXXIT boys and Dolce Vita troupe entertained us well at various points in the evening, and very soon we were running behind schedule as these events usually do! The Fashion show by POPPEOPLE was superb and worthy of any catwalk in Paris or Milan. The clothes were exceptional and the models pretty hot as well, including Khun Toi of Cafe Royale and two Westerners - now who else would have organised that but Khun Bank (owner of POPPEOPLE). Khun Bank worked very hard for a month to organise this show and we hope he will get a lot of support in his new shop in front of Day Night 2 Hotel which is opening soon. Currently his shop is on Third road, 200 m before the Pattaya Klang traffic lights (if you are going towards North Pattaya). He deserves everyone's support and just think of it: all Pattaya/Jomtien boys could be wearing great fashion!

Mr. Midsummer Fantasy contest had 15 participants from all parts of town. They walked their oiled bodies around EXXIT 4 or 5 times.

The winners were:
Mr Midsummer Fantasy: Khun Boy from Derby Men's Club, Jomtien, 1st runner up: Khun Arm (freelance) and 2nd runner up: Khun Ta from HiSo Internet, Jomtien
Mr. Popular w won by Khun Aon of Bondi Jomtien
Prizes were kindly donated by (in respective order) 10,000 Baht (Bondi Jomtien and Flamboyant Restaurant), 5000 Baht (Dick's Cafe, Jomtien), 3000 Baht (Camel Cafe, Jomtien) and 5000 Baht (Image Limousine).

The raffle prizes included some great prizes including 2 return tickets to Singapore with Limo to airport, a mobile phone, and 2 DVD players (donated by Jim of BoyzBoyzBoyz) as well as many bottles and restaurants vouchers - one of which was worth 8000 Baht (Manhattan's) - Thank you to all for buying tickets and Thank you to all who generously provided prizes.

Our hosts: Rob and the very lovely Rosie Bothways were roasting under the heat and sometimes found it difficult with the lack of good light and poor sound for which we apologise. Rosie who had not been on stage in a frock for 25 years looked great and we thank her very much for her time, her wit and, who could resist her lovely legs?

We would like to thank all the staff from all the Jomtien Gay Community businesses who helped including Bondi Jomtien, Dolce Vita, Dick's (who did some beautiful flower arrangements) and in particular Khun Chart who made the whole event happen. Thank you to Ron and lovely wife from EXXIT and all their staff for putting on a good show. Thank you to Casa Pascal, Famboyant, Manhattan's and Asian Moon for providing excellent canapes throughout the evening and to the Judges: Khun Bank, Danny and Tony who did a great job at confusing the MC's but I think picked the right winners>

A meeting will be held by the Jomtien Gay Community in the next few days and announcements will be made of monies raised on the night for charities.

Photos will be on www.jomtiengayguide.com very soon."

You do yourself an injustice wowpow.

Whilst the boys are not my type, the fact that you bothered to take the photos in lighting conditions not really suited to producing crystal clear shots for the non-professional photographer and came away with some excellent shots is something you should be contratulated on.

poor boys have to be photographed in their undies for a gay festival.
Poor boys who have to be on the www in their undies because wowpow likes that.
Shouldn't he blur the faces of those boys also or does he only blur the faces of the farangs ?

I would say no to camera's at any gay location !!

quote my photos's are nothing to be proud of.

Try photo number 20 of 46 in the Pattaya Gay nightlife section, or number 22 (and I don't mean the judges)

Really, who cares ? When you attend a public function, especially one with skin contests in sin city, that are certain to be photographed, wear a disguise if you are really that uptight about being photographed. Who are you afraid will see you ?

While we're on this topic of the Jomtien complex affair, however, in case you missed it, do take a look at Sawatdee Forum and the thread about this affair that Deere John Botting posted. Seems President Rotary was highly offended when he got seated at a table without a view at the event. This led Mr. President to label the whole affair a "disaster." I guess we can see who thinks how important they really are.

To make matters worse, the irate table-sans-view party got into a hissy fit with Rob Image, when they tried to switch tables. Seems that Rob, who also gets outed in the bitchy thread as the anonymous jomtien complex promoter, Jomtiengayguides, sent the Rotarians back to their original table in a huff.

Would you believe that the village trolls at what passes for Pattaya society, Sawatdee style, these days, ran up four pages of alternating hissing and vapid comments, on the lessons to be learned from the table-switching duel ?

In the end, an outraged President Botting had these humbling things to say:

" ...there are some people attacking me personally and also Rob at Image. Well theres a surprise! Unfortunately... there are some jealous people out there. Maybe the fact that I (and Rob in fact) am still fairly young, living full time in Thailand, own a relatively successful business here and getting myself involved in the community (Rob and I have a lot in common) has also has upset them as they are stuck in their dull worlds and not in a position to do what I (we) have done? "

What can you say after such a performance ? Only Lady Macbeth didn't show.
