I herad a wild rumor yesterday that the gogo bar formerly known as Gacuya in Boyztown area will be reopening in two months as "Blue Sky" and that it will be the first 100% non-smoking gogo bar in Pattaya ?
Can someone please confirm this wonderful rumor, which is hopefully true !!!!

I can't say that I have heard anything about that new place but someone looks to be doing renovations there now. As I understand, the Thai government intends to order that all indoor places, including bars become non-smoking in 2008, so maybe some smart bar owner is getting the jump on the inevitable. I hope so too!!!! I am keeping my fingers crossed.

There's certainly a lot of work going on at the site:

A non-smoking bar would be great.

What welcome news! let's hope 'no smoking' spreads like wildfire. In Jomtien Monty's Gayote and Hard Boys (opposite) already have a No Smoking policy for their indoor aircon sections.
THe truth is that most people go to a particular go-go bar because they expect to find the sort of boys there that they find attractive and will continue to do whatever the smoking policy may be.
The Thai Government promised a 'no smoking in bars' rule for 2007 but, sadly, the present rulers have not taken up on that. Though they are busy bashing alcohol advertising.
