Short on the heels of that woman getting crushed to death in her car by a falling billboard in Bangkok two weeks ago, another of those big signs has come down in a storm on Sukhukvit:
"en people were injured - two seriously - Wednesday afternoon, after a billboard at the mouth of Soi Sukhumvit 70/4 collapsed during a rainstorm. Uprooted trees and power poles in other areas were also reported.
Bang Na district chief Krit Watcharasiritham said the 4 metre x 24 metre billboard at the mouth of Soi Sukhumvit 70/4 collapsed in gusty winds onto a motorcycle taxi stand and passersby, causing 10 injuries - two were seriously wounded - and the injured were rushed to Bang Na Hospital."

One flying billboard incident in Bangkok today.
"Gusty winds yesterday blew pieces of zinc sheeting from a giant rooftop billboard onto the street in Lat Phrao, wounding a pedestrian.
The falling metal sheets also damaged power lines and caused a power transformer to explode, cutting off electricity to certain areas for hours. Deputy Bangkok Governor Banasopit Mekvichai said the billboard was illegally erected.
A number of people have been injured over recent weeks due to billboards collapsing under powerful winds. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has set up a committee to remove billboards that are unsafe or illegal."

How does one erect a giant billboard illegally without someone seeing it?
