The junta seems to be growing more paranoid as time passes, especially when it comes to the referendum.

"Soldiers on the northern border are on the lookout for money flowing in from Burmese casinos due to suspicions the cash could be used to shoot down the draft constitution in Sunday's referendum.
Third Army chief Jiradet Kocharat has ordered soldiers to set up a checkpoint near the border to watch for bogus casino winnings. He said the money could be distributed by a network of canvassers, who would each pay at least 10 people to vote against the draft charter.
''We are preparing to block them from spending the money, but our method is secret,'' said Lt-Gen Jiradet.
