The board's moderators have received several messages recently inquiring about the editing of certain posts in the Thailand Forum to remove the message in total. For the record, all of these deletions were done by the poster involved, not the moderators, for reasons unknown to us.
As you may know, all posts are subject to unrestricted editing, but not deletion, by their author for 24 hours after the original posting. You can delete the contents of everything you post, but you cannot delete the fact of the post itself, which can only be done by a moderator.
After 24 hours, the "Edit" button disappears on posts. That means you lose the ability to edit your posts. The moderators are prepared, however, at their total discretion, to edit or delete any post at the request of its author after this 24 hour period, for cause shown. It will remain confidential at the request of the poster.
Requests by third parties to delete posts will normally not be entertained. Needless to say, we hope that such requests for edits or deletions by the authors of posts after 24 hours are limited to exceptional cases for good cause shown.
