"A woman who once made headlines with her suit against a popular cosmetic surgeon was shot dead Thursday night.

Police said Apassanan Titichotepreecha, 53, who changed name from Rawiwan Setarat, was shot and killed at 9 pm while walking into her townhouse in a housing estate in a Bang Kapi district. A foods vendor told police that two men were drinking beer in front of her shop and disappeared after the gunfire.

Police said the woman parked her car outside her house and was shot four times after passing through the gate of her townhouse.

She survived a murder attempt in November last year.

Apassanan was sued by Bio Clinic after she announced to the public that her face was disfigured after receiving a silicone injection there. But in August last year, the court acquitted her of the defamation charges. She was suing the clinic for a huge sum of compensation."

"Crime Suppression Division police have stepped in to investigate the murder of a woman who fought legal battles against a cosmetic surgeon whom she accused of causing injury to her face.

Her murder came less than six months after a prime witness in her case against the surgeon was also killed.

Apassanan Thitichotechaipreecha, 53, was shot dead by at least two gunmen in front of her house in Bang Kapi district on Thursday. The woman was formerly known as Raweewan Setarat.

Police are investigating whether there is any link between Apassanan's murder and the killing of her witness in a case she filed against the surgeon."
