"Deputy Permanent Secretary for Defence, Gen Saprang Kalayanamitr, on Friday said that since he did not get the job as army commander, he is under no compulsion to quit as chairman of the TOT or Airports of Thailand. He denied that he planned to resign from his military post or the chairmanship of either of the two state enterprises.

Previously, Admiral Banawit Kengrian, chief advisor of the Defence Council, who is one of his close friends, said during an interview that Gen Saprang was due to resign from all the posts he has assumed at present...

Regarding the chairmanship of Airports of Thailand Plc and TOT Plc, Gen Saprang said in a media interview that he would resign if was to be appointed army commander-in-chief, but unless he was named to the top army post, he would continue chairmanship of the two state corporations until the new government is formed."
