"The Assets Scrutiny Committee (ASC) will today hold talks to decide whether to issue an arrest warrant for Pinthongta Shinawatra, daughter of ousted Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, for refusing to testify on the controversial sale of Shin Corp shares.
The afternoon meeting will also discuss the possibility of charging Mr Thaksin with abuse of power for using his position as Prime Minister to approve a 4 billion baht loan to Burma. The loan eventually benefited Mr Thaksin’s family-run business since Burma used part of the money to buy telecommunications equipment from his very own Shin Satellite Public Co., Ltd."
