If you have felt frustrated by the ability to do anything about the horrible situation in Burma, one of our regular posters made a great suggestion in the middle of another thread here: why not send a message to the Chinese government at their official website to voice your anger with them for their protection of the criminals running Burma.
This is the way it works, as copied partially from the other post:
The Chinese government has a website identified on Google and which you can find at: http://www.china.org.cn If you look at the site, you will see that it has a prominent place for a daily countdown to the Olympics in 2008.
The Chinese site also has a button which invites "Feedback" and says: "Anything you would like to tell us? Any comments, suggestions or questions? For most of us here at china.org.cn, English is our second language. So please give us your comments, questions, suggestions, broken links, anything!!"
I sent the following message to that site today, which says:
"I will boycott the Chinese Olympic Games to protest your role in aiding the slaughter of people and democracy in Burma. I will not travel to China. I will not watch any Olympic events on TV. I will not purchase any product relating to the Olympics or any of its sponsors."
You can find that "Feedback" page waiting for your comments by clicking on this link:
http://service.china.org.cn/link/wcm/comments_e
All you have to do is take a minute to highlight and copy the message in red above with your mouse, click on the "Feedback" link, paste it in the section for "comments", type whatever name you like and click the "Submit" button at the bottom to send it to the Chinese government.
If you feel strongly about what's happening in Burma, why not send an email with these instructions to five friends anywhere in the world, asking them to send it to five of their friends. Let's see if we can start an avalance of internet protests descending on the Chinese government website. It's got to start somewhere so why not here, where Burma is so close by.

It's interesting that there are pages of "boycott the olympics" on You Tube, a lot based on China's perceived complicity with the Sudan government in Darfur, as well as the Burma thing. My guess is that the big time promoters in the world media who are looking to make money broadcasting the games with big money for rates, are not about to start a movement to hurt their profits. Sad, but the real world.
