Does anyone know what's the best deal for high speed internet access in Pattaya now?
I will be staying for almost 3 months and I have a land-line connection at my apartment.
I was told on my last visit that 990 baht from Loxinfo ADSL was about the best deal around, and can be donein a few days.
But these things seem to change every week. Thanks for any help or information.
Best internet deal around ?

It will be interesting to find out if there is a short term contract available. There is obviously a demand for such worldwide.
I am currently in the UK and cannot find a broadband contract which is less than 12 months. I can get one with Virgin but they charge UK£50 to disconnect and tell me that this is 50% of the charge that British Telecom charge them.
Being naive I thought that Starbucks and hotels gave you free access to encourage business. Not so they install WiFi which is as cheap as chips for them and then charge huge prices. Starbucks UK charge UK£5 (350 baht) an hour!
Haloi it seems your best solution is to go to an internet cafe where you can connect up - I think - for about 30 baht an hour.

I think it still is, because you don't have to book for any time period. But my knowledge is from 2005, soit may be obsolete by now.
You may find it takes longer to hook up once you subscribe than a few days.
I recall it took my renter about 10 days to have the ADSL up and running after he visited the Loxinfo office on Third Road.
There may also be a problem with what kind of line you have.
If you house line starts with 0383.., you are ok for ADSL at loxinfo. If you have a line 0382... line, you may not be able to subscribe to loxinfo ADSL.

If you do mind accessing the net on your laptop from outside your apartment, I have a couple of options for you.
First one is not so attractive - Starbucks charges 1500 baht for 20 hours - fast and efficient but overpriced. Why Thailand Starbucks charge for wifi and Malaysian Starbucks do not charge I cannot understand!
Second is from the Apple Store in Tuk Com - You can buy a latte at Starbucks and sit as long as you like accessing the Apple server. Cost one month 400 baht unlimited daily usage. 1000 baht for three months unlimited daily usage. Fast and efficient.
