That's one of the hot bits of information dropped in a "Special Report" in this morning's Nation.
The article is not signed by anyone, which is peculiar given its content, but it purports to set forth the role played by General Saphrang Kalayanamitr, assistant commander of the Royal Thai Army and former commander of the Third Army Division, which division was among the very first to move its troops to Bangkok to effect the coup.
It certainly debunks the common perception that the coup was something thrown together by a few desperate generals in the hours after Thaksin left for his overseas trip.
