"Pro-Thaksin site 'hi-thaksin .net' has revealed that Thaksin Shinawatra is due back in Thailand on February 29 at 9:00am. The message on the site also urged supporters of the ousted prime minister to greet him at Suvarnabhumi airport.

There has been no confirmation on Mr Thaksin's behalf on the exact time and date of his expected return although it's believed he has plans to disclose the details sometime today through another website, www.truethaksin.com . Mr Thaksin is currently believed to be in China."

Leave it to Thaksin to orchestrate this kind of excitement over his return. I once thought that he might plan to cross silently and without much fanfare across the Cambodian border into friendly Issan. On reflection, he and his unlimited ego probably think that the term "the second coming" was coined for just this occasion.

The thread title says "Thursday" but the OP says February 29. Thursday is the 28th, and according to this .jpg "borrowed" from 2bangkok.com, it looks like Thursday the 28th is the correct date.

"Ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra will definitely return to Thailand from China on Thursday, his lawyer said late Tuesday. Pichit Chuenban said that Thaksin will arrive at Suvannabhumi Airport by TG 603 at 9.40am.

"Khun Thaksin asked me to inform the media and everybody that he will end his self exile and return home to defend corruption charges on Thursday," Pichit said."
