"In the early hours of Wednesday Morning,[Feb 27] Police Major Sanai from Pattaya Police Station was called to Pattaya Beach Road in front of Soi 4 to investigate the aftermath of a vicious attack on a Thai man. The seriously injured man, Khun Batompong aged 21 was rushed to Hospital with serious head injuries.

Witnesses saw 10 men approach the victim inside Soi 4. The victim attempted to escape from the gang who caught up with him on the beach. One of the attackers was seen to use a plank of wood containing sharp nails.

The group then left the scene on 5 motorbikes. CCTV pictures are now being analyzed by Police and doctors tell us that the victim has a 50/50 chance of survival."
