Just delete the adjectives and then you will get the facts. (apologies to Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird)

I think that Jinks may be referring to the fact that only a moderator can edit or delete a post here or in the Hopper once it has been on the board for 24 hours.
On some of the old boards, most notably PattayaGay, it was possible for posters to purge all evidence of their posts and presence in a thread by going back at any time and deleting what they had posted. You could even delete a whole thread containing the posts of other posters if you initiated the first post in the thread which, when deleted, wiped out the whole thread.
Several veteran posters there would routinely purge the board of their posts, as if to remove their fingerprints. In my opinion, it was a bad system that encouraged mischief and irresponsible posting.
