"A political activist Wednesday petitioned the Education Ministry to release the education records of Transport Minister Santi Prompat suspected for wrongfully obtained his Bachelor of Arts from Ramkhamhaeng University in order to qualify for the job.

Thaikorn Pholsuwan said he wanted Education Minister Somchai Wongsawat to get to the bottom of the matter.

"I suspect a foul play because the university has blocked the access to Santi's records," he said."

Did you know that you not only have a have a degree to hold a Cabinet position, you also have to be a "native born" Thai to serve as a member of Parliament. Foreigners need not apply, even those who are permanent residents of Thailand. It's called "farangaphobia."
