"Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva is not worried after he received a phone call threat, Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban said Saturday.Mr Suthep said officials are probing the case to see whether a person or a political group is behind the call.
The premier would not change his phone number, he said, adding that security would not be increased for the protection of the premier either.
He also said that the government has began speaking with ousted premier Thaksin Shinawatra, starting by contacting his close aides. He said he would like to request Mr Thaksin to tell his close aides to stop creating chaos in the country."

It's interesting to note that a poll shows that only 1 out of 5 people polled actually believe that the PM's claims of an assassination plot are real. 37% believe they may have been fabricated.

It looks like the new PM is taking these threats seriously:
"Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva Sunday cancelled his plan to help campaign for a Democrat Party candidate in Pathum Thani following reports protesters planned to attack him with bags of pork blood and human excrement.
Hundreds of the red-shirted protesters gathered in front of the Pathum Thani city hall in the afternoon and their leaders took turn speak against Abhisit.
The prime minister initially planned to help Apinan Chuaybamrung campaign in the by-election in the province.. . Apinan later told reporters that Abhisit cancelled the plan to help him campaign on security reason because there were many protesters."
