"Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva on Monday warned ousted premier Thaksin Shinawatra not to damage the country and offend the royal institution.
Mr Abhisit, referring to the news about Mr Thaksin's refusal to negotiate with the government and hiring lobbyists to destabilise the government, said political problems are acceptable but the former prime minister should not attack the country or highly respected institution of the nation.
He said all sides, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will have to work more proactively to make the international community understand the actual situation in the country.
After Puea Pandin party MP Chalerm Yubamrung accused the Democrat-led party of imitating Thaksin administration's policy, Mr Abhisit denied the claim and said the policy of his government was written under the 2007 Constitution.
Prime Minister's Office Minister Sathit Wongnongtoey admitted that the news about lobbyist agencies hired by Mr Thaksin could trouble the government as well as well as the country.According to Mr Sathit, the government is not trying to mistreat the deposed premier but it is ready to handle potential problems."
