"Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva announced on Wednesday the change of the venue of the 14th summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) to be hosted by Thailand. The summit, which was earlier planned to be held in Bangkok, will be moved to the resort town of Hua Hin in Prachuap Khiri Khan province for security reasons, Mr Abhisit told reporters.

The summit would be divided into two parts, he added.

The first part of the summit will be held from February 27 to March 1, while the second part will be held around the end of April. The decision came after the anti-government group United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) threatened to block the summit."
