"His Majesty the King will receive the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)'s First Global Leaders Award on Wednesday, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The ministry said WIPO director-general Francis Gurry will present the award to His Majesty at Klai Kangwon Palace in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan province.

According to the organisation, the King is recognised for his notable contribution to promote and support intellectual property. His Majesty is the first recipient of the WIPO Global Leaders Award."
