"Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said Sunday morning that he had instructed the Finance Ministry to come up with measures for guaranteeing loans for the private sector.
Speaking during his weekly programme on NBT, Abhisit said banks had a lot of money to provide loans but they were reluctant to grant loans to small firms and ordinary people. As a result, the Finance Ministry would try to guarantee the banks to grant loans as a way to revive the economy.
Abhisit said he also received complaints from several people that they could not obtain loans because they were blacklisted by the Credit Bureau. Abhisit said he had instructed the Credit Bureau to compile a final report for considering how to help those blacklisted by the bureau so that they could obtain loans."

It boggles the mind to think of the potential for corruption and abuse when the government starts to guarantee private loans to the families, in-laws and friends of politicians, especially the ones who have been "blacklisted" as obvious credit risks - or worse ! There's no better way to ensure bad loans than to guarantee the banks that the taxpayers will foot the bill for dead-heads loans.
