"Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban expressed no concern if Samran Rodpetch, who is reportedly being groomed as a future leader of People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD), is appointed as government adviser.
Mr Suthep said he does not propose the name of Mr Samran as a board of the assistant to the ministers, but believes the appointment would not cause any problem to the government.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister's Office Minister Sathit Wongnongtoey said the person who proposes the name must be able to explain to the public the reasons behind the proposal. It is not necessary that the persons are PAD supporters, he said, adding that the government has to be extra careful about making decisions as the society is watching."
