I am flying to Loei for a few days in December, and in my street directory see a place called Earawan.
Has anyone been there and if possible let me know of other places of interest near Loei.

There's not much to do or see in Loei and even less in Erawan.
I did visit a cave at the top of a mountain somewhere near Erawan that had a big buddha image inside. Sorry, I don't remember the name. It was a long hike up many many steps to get there. I'm not sure it's worth the hike, especially if lots of steps are a problem for you.

I would not spend one hour in Loei town when there is so much to see in the province :
- the national parks - at least if you do not mind to pay the outrageous entrance fee
- or spending two or three nights in Chiang Khan especially if you bring your own boy. Stay in a guesthouse along the Maekhong, trip along the river, look at the lao side in the sunset ... romantic at its best.
