"The Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission will hand over its findings of an inquiry into alleged mismanagement at the Government Pension Fund to the National Anti-Corruption Commission. . . The PACC found that former GPF secretary-general Visit Tantisunthorn and four others violated regulations and codes of ethics by personally investing in stocks ahead of similar transactions by the fund.

Mr Visit, who was dismissed as the secretary-general following the scandal, was found to have bought and sold stocks in his private portfolio related to investments by the fund more than 70 times.

Mr Tharit said the PACC would ask the Department of Special Investigation to investigate the five for alleged insider trading even though they were cleared of the allegations by a committee chaired by Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) chairman Pakorn Malakul Na Ayudhya. Mr Tharit said the PACC investigators disagreed with the Pakorn panel and would ask the DSI to take over the case.
Pol Lt Col Chalermchon Unhaseri, of the PACC, said the personal stock trading by the five suggested they could have broken the insider trading law.

It's interesting to compare that blatant conflict of interest and insider trading to the one time that Mrs. Thaksin bid at a public auction for property held by the Bank of Thailand while her husband was PM. Talk about double standards of justice. I'd be willing to bet that nothing comes of this case, just like the bribery case involving the TAT Governor. Rich people don't get prosecuted or go to jail in Thailand - unless their name is Thaksin.
