Photo taken yesterday when the police board met and decided to delay naming a new chief indefinitely, showing that Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva did not have the votes after all.
Do you get the feeling that Junior is not in charge ?

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva denied on Thursday that the selection of the new the police chief had been postponed because acting police chief Thanee Somboonsap had switched sides and was now backing Pol Gen Chumpol Manmai instead of Pol Gen Pateep Tanprasert, who has the prime minister's backing. "No, no, that's not true," Mr Abhisit said when asked about the reports.
Mr Abhisit said the Royal Thai Police board, chaired by the prime minister, indefinitely postponed selection of a new police chief on Wednesday because the members wanted more time for careful deliberation. The prime minister said he would give interviews on this issue in the afternoon.
A source close to the board said Mr Abhisit raised concerns about criticism of the selection process. The delay was partly forced by the widespread criticism, which indicated a deep conflict over the issue.Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban said on Thursday it was the right decision, even though it could lead to further public criticism."

If you want to see how bizarre this police chief debacle could get if Abhisit can't figure out how to appoint a new police chief by the end of this month, read this:
"Abhisit talks about appointing a Police Chief, but according to Pol. Gen. Watcharapol, a Deputy Police Chief and Secretary General of the Police Commission, who states that if after September 30 no one has been appointed Police Chief then according to Police Regulations, the Police Chief automatically becomes the most senior Deputy Police Chief, who is Priewphan (who is the elder brother of Thaksin's ex-wife Potjaman)."
