I couldn't help think about the minor jail sentence of 2 months, suspended here, for a Tha senator, compared to the 18 years in jail given to Thailand's Aung San for lese majeste last month. Talk about double standards !!!
"The Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Holders of Police Office Friday disqualified Nakhon Sawan Senator Orapin Munsilp after convicting her in concealing her debt worth Bt171.89 million. She was also fined Bt4,000.
The court also gave her a two-month jail term for falsifying the asset declaration statement given to the National Anti-Corruption Commission after she took office in March last year. But the court suspended the jail term for a year. She was also banned from holding any political position for five years."
