"The Israeli PM has said the resumption of Middle East peace talks could be further delayed by Palestinian demands for a freeze on settlement building."We must not be trapped by an illogical demand," Benjamin Netanyahu said in Washington. "It could put the peace negotiations on hold for another year."

The Palestinians said Mr Netanyahu's policy was stalling the peace process.

In Washington, Mr Netanyahu also met President Barack Obama, but no details have been given about the talks. It was the their first meeting since a row over building in East Jerusalem soured relations between the two allies.

The discussions - which lasted about 90 minutes - were closed to the media, a sign which correspondents say suggests the dispute may not be entirely resolved."

Have you seen the latest stories circulating about Netanyahu's previous meeting with then-President Clinton at the White House over ten years ago ? BeeBee lectured Clinton on the history of Israel and the Middle East. When the meeting ended, a visibly irritated Clinton was heard to remark: who's supposed to be the super-power here ?
