Gay rights groups have condemned the Vatican's secretary of state, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, for claiming that the Catholic church's sexual abuse crisis was linked to homosexuality and paedophilia and not celibacy among priests.
Bertone, who is considered Pope Benedict's number two, sparked the controversy on a visit to Chile when he suggested gay sexuality was to blame for the church's child abuse scandals.

for sure there are more priest gay then lady hairdresser who are gay.
Ofcourse you get the urge to make sex if you are not allowed to make sex.
The Catholic church is imo a sekte with frustrated gay man who are all closet queens.
Santa papa is the biggest gay.
I have a nose for it ( I am gay myself) I can spot them and believe me this Pope has invented homosexuality.
Its very unfair for them to say that homosexuals are pedophiles.
Its there own frustrations who makes them what they are.

I don't think that gays are any more likely to be pedophiles than straights but I do think that, since the percentage of priests who are gay is much larger than the general population, it's also more likely that priests who are found to be involved in pedophilia are gay.
Most researchers since Kinsey have concluded that the gay male population around the world is probably less than 5%. But studies made of Catholic priests have put the gay percentage at anywhere from 20-50%. I assume that would mean automatically that that a cross-section of pedophile priests cases would involve more gays than in the general population.
