Bangkok: Police have arrested six members of the New Politics Party [PAD] for carrying weapons. Officers from Bang Sue station yesterday stopped a pickup truck carrying the six at a checkpoint in front of the Finance Ministry on Rama VI Road
Police found two pistols, almost 100 rounds of ammunition and two knives. The suspects _ Plai Au-aon, 50, Nimit Charoenying, 28, Anucha Kuanchob, 24, Thanakrit Maneewan, 40, Prasert Chaowieng, 43 and Theerapong Oungart, 29 _ were all card-carrying members of the NPP from Rayong.
The party is the political arm of the People's Alliance for Democracy, which staged rallies against governments sympathetic to Thaksin Shinawatra."

Six guys sharing two pistols? Sounds like a bunch of ordinary citizens to me, probably on their way to watch some muay Thai.
