"The People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) on Sunday called on the Democrat-led government to deal with the mass anti-government rally of the red-shirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) within 15 days or else the yellow-shirt supporters will come out to protect the country, PAD co-leader Somsak Kosaisuk said.

PAD core members held a meeting together with thousands of their supporters at Rangsit University on Sunday morning.

"Thailand has never experienced a deep division like this one before. The red-shirts are using the words 'commoners' and 'elites' to create such division. "The country belongs to everyone of us but there are some people who are destroying the country to gain personal benefits," univesity rector Arthit Urairat said.

PAD co-leader Chamlong Srimuang said the UDD were divided into three groups - the MPs who work in the House of Representatives, the demonstrators and the insurgents.PAD prominent member Sondhi Limthongkul did not take part in the meeting."

I find this whole thing mind boggling. Are we going to have a civil war in the streets of Bangkok just because there is a Prime Minister who refuses to schedule prompt elections to let the voters decide ? How can any man think he more important than the country or democracy or human lives ?

This is just a repeat of what happened before the coup in 2006. The Bangkok elite and extreme monarchists are using the yellow shirts to create more chaos so that another coup or crackdown can take place.
