I have reviewed in the past two hours the events and posts on GayThailand board and here, which clearly indicate that the poster named Ear Wig plagiarized in the worst possible terms a copyrighted article that appeared in a Pattaya newspaper.
Even worse than the original violation, this poster then led GT moderators to believe, in the face of serious accusations, that the extensive post he made on their board was his original work product, by not publicly acknowledging that he had, in fact, copied the article verbatim from a newspaper.
Since being exposed in such flagrant violation of posting ethics and rules, this same poster has sought to excuse or justify his conduct in an absurd rush of feeble excuses, including a malicious attempt to claim that his plagiarism on GayThailand was no better or worse than ordinary posts made by Hedda on this board. I find that charge to be utterly preposterous and outrageous, especially coming from a proven plagiarist.
As a regular reader of Hedda's posts, both here and on other boards, I can only assume Ear Wig to be motivated by some desperate attempt to escape responsibililty for his own wilful plagiarism, subsequent misconduct and deception. Hedda may be prepared to accept such personal calumny as routine among a certain posting element; this Board does not.
In attacking Hedda for alleged plagiarism, without any semblance of facts or support, Ear Wig forgets that he also attacks this board and its credibililty. Such conduct is not consistent with being a member in good standing of this board; those who make such false charges so flippantly must accept responsibility for their actions.
We do not invite people to post on this board if their intention is to abuse our hospitality with false and malicious claims against the board, its hosts and moderators.
Effectively at 7 Pm Monday, 18 December, Pattaya time, Ear Wig will be suspended from posting on this board unless he has posted by that time, in acceptable terms, an apology for these unwarranted charges of plagiarism against this board, its hosts and moderators.

There is nothing in the "apology" post by Ear Wig that indicates anything other than an expression that he is sorry if he offended anyone. That could easily be construed as suggesting that I am too sensitive, rather than he too indifferent to ethical posting standards. There is not a single word that could be construed as retracting his unfounded allegations of plagiarism against this board.
In addition, comments made since the "apology" was posted here, by both Ear Wig and his ghostly collaborator, on this board and others, suggest that he still views the matter of plagiarism as a trifling, if not humorous issue of no concern to him or his posting habits.
One does not need a degree in journalism to recognize a clearer case of plagiarism than was contained in the posting Ear Wig made on GayThailand. I view some of the comments made since then by both Ear Wig and the Ghost as an affront to common sense and our posters' intelligence. Since the plagiarism occurred on another board, however, it is hardly our business of how they choose to deal with it.
It became our business, however, when Ear Wig tried to divert attention and avoid responsibility for his activities by suggesting that what he did on GayThailand board was no different than what occurs regularly on this Board in posting by Hedda. I find that claim reprehensible, even if Hedda is prepared to treat it as a product of silly gamesmanship by people with peculiar standards.
Perhaps, when I have become a posting veteran like some regulars here or on other boards, I will be able to view matters like plagiarism and false accusations with less concern. Right now, however, in the innocence of my board career, I think I would rather operate this board with more civility, less rancor and without posters who think its "fun" to abuse their hosts with false claims and insincere apologies.
I will suspend the posting privileges of Ear Wig as of 7PM, which suspension will remain in effect, unless and until he has delivered to me by email a compete and unqualified retraction of his statements accusing this board of plagiarism.
PS - I want to thank Mod 1 and Hedda for their great advice and input, even if they may disagree with my decision.
