This poster has noticed that all the major gaythailand boards have settled down and peace and
calm seem to have taken hold.. This forum was the only one still in turmoil until the administrator
put a stop to the drama..
There is so much going on in Thailand that is of interest to gay men and the silly stuff just turns off
people from reading and contributing to the various forums.. Many gay men have a lot to say but are
afraid of getting blasted by the grammar police or the bullies that think this is their forum to run and control..
I believe now is the time for all good men to return to the reason forums like this were founded..

Focusing on one or two people or the feuds, takes away from the joys and pleasures so readily available
in this wonderful country and its friendly easy going people.. I would love to see us focus on the positives
and the reasons we all come to forums like this and share information without a care as to who was first,
to welcome newbies without being suspicious of their intentions, to give honest advice and know when enough is enough, to discuss serious issues when appropriate without attacking each other... I know , just a dream and soon the realities of anonymous forums will sink again to the lowest common denominators and new trolls will emerge and trumpet their nonsense, new promotionalistic threads will push this restaurant or that bar, rumour mongers will sharpen their wits and spew forth but for the moment let us enjoy the peace and calm and have fun.. There is no place like Thailand.. What a party every day and every nite.. rolleyes.gif

Perhaps, dear, you will excuse me if I find your post just a bit like the chap who has just colloborated in blowing up the school and now wants to talk about the need to reform the curriculum.

If memory serves me right, you and the Wig were the principal architects of the mayhem you now seem to disdain, having imported your personal vendetta to this board from elsewhere, in a time that history has forgotten.

Pity poor Bahtstop, who found himself playing host to dinner guests who arrived with a burning desire to do nothing but have a roaring food fight in the middle of his new posting board.

I won't go back and cite you chapter and verse of the charges you and the Wig have leveled against each other, including some serious personal insinuations about character in real life that don't belong on any board, because that would be too painful for everyone to bear again.

Suffice to say, while I agree with your plea for calm and sanity, it might sound a lot more convincing had you not been the one who was frequently seen waving the red flag at the bull in the foyer.

Perhaps if you had begun with a nice "mea culpa", your case for a return to normalcy would be a lot more persuasive.

I agree with Hedda, as the facts speak for themselves.. Of course, I see things from my point of
view and while combative and provocative, I was mostly on the defensive and stood my ground..

When many other posters jumped into the fray, village idiot steered clear of the melee as I don't
believe in kicking a man when he is down.. It was inevitable that the suspended one would self destruct
and flip his wig and it would be appropriate for Hedda to acknowledge his role as well..

This thread was meant as my year end message and hopefully clear the slate.. Peace and calm sound
good to me.. I , for one, am glad to see the boards quiet and the party goes on and on in Thailand... cool.gif

Hold the phone, Idiot ! I had absolutely no role in the cat fight between you and The Wig. Indeed, I've never posted a single word attacking the personal life of you, Ear Wig or any other poster.

If you recall, I was the one who took strenuous exception when Ear Wig attempted to intimate things about the personal lives of Geezer, Rainwalker and yours truly, for which he has yet to apologize.

You are correct that I was among the folks who thought that Ear Wig's plagiarism and subsequent actions on GayThailand was deliberate and inexcusable and I said so. That was fair game and hardly a personal attack. My criticism of Ear Wig has always been for the way and what he posts, not how he supposedly leads his personal life.

There is a vast difference between debating issues like plagiarism versus using the boards to attack other poster's personal lives. I hope you realize that difference is quite fundamental to resolving this issue of bringing peace to any board.

One of the problems on all these boards is that some people with limited education or talent don't understand the difference between debating an issue and attacking the other guy. They treat any difference of opinion as a personal attack. It's all so childish but also so bloody common on every board you visit.

when you give yourself a handle like village idiot, you cannot take offense when someone calls you idiot, as it is surely just an endearment like honey etc...
Of course, the nastiness between this poster and the suspended one have nothing to do with Hedda..
My reference to jumping into the melee was the plargiarism issue and subsequent fallout on this and
another board, which became a lynching party of sorts..
somehow with apologies being asked for by many and received by few, and a request for a mea culpa from you , it seemed like an innocuous suggestion and maybe you overreacted a tad..

Followers of the "catfight" will have observed that I never wrote anything about the body, hair, age, size of body parts, etc. The insane non-stop delusional remarks from the suspended poster, that I was someone other than myself and that my personal preferences were little boys rather than grown men, did cause this poster to lash out and defend himself .. Of course, right and wrong become unimportant when a forum
gets filled up with all this silliness and nastiness and everyone is loser.. I trust this is the last time I will
need to reference this whole issue and I for one will have no problem never mentioning the suspended one again unless I feel a knife in my back... wink.gif

It no longer matters. Someone would have to really be an idiot to believe or take seriously any accusations he makes from now on.

In any case, it appears that Baht-Stop has had just about enough of all this and I don't think there's very much left to say that hasn't already been said.
