Now that there are no tourist in Pattaya I suppose that the bars are having extended happy hours.
Buy one get one free.

I suppose now the boys almost do not have customers they are more easy to please with a 500 baht note !!

Is funny boys still asking 150 baht/ 4 euro for a glass of water ?

Are the restaurants still asking 110/130/150 baht for a small glass of wine from the box ?

I think its time that the Thai,s and their foreing managers open their eyes and start trying to get the lost customers back.

Thailand is getting much to expensive.

No I will not travel to Thailand this year.
Right now I am in Africa much more merchandise for less money.

I think that things have gotten expensive enough in Thailand that potential expats like me, who are going to have just barely adequate retirement income in their home countries when they reach retirement cannot afford to consider permanent retirement in Thailand. Here at home, an expat gets free medical care and other social services as they get old, but in Thailand, medical care can cost big money in insurance premiums, if you can get it, or medical services that are not cheap anymore. Ten years ago, you could save money for that rainy day on what you saved on food and rent. Now, you got to spend most of what you have to eat and have a roof over your head- and the cost of living keeps going up - while the exchange rate gets worse for foreigners.

I once had my heart set on spending my last good years at the beach in Jomtien. I think I got to re-think the whole thing now. I used to wonder if Id get bored with living in Thailand. Now I wonder if I can even afford trying it.

Yes its getting very expensive in Thailand and for that reason I think I will lower the amount of money I am used to give to the boys.
I know some of your expats think that this is not nice to do but I think its just fair.
If the Thai peole give me such a bad exchange rate why shall I overpay the boys.
No they have to feel it one way or another way.
I hope that the prices will come down because there is not enough demand
but I have my doubts, knowing the stupid bar owners, who only think they have to raise the price when there are not enough falangs.

Danny, your comments were thoughtful and insightful. I do hope you try it and I do hope the exchange rate will become more realistic in the future.

Yes its time the exchange rate will become a little more realistic.
I think 500 baht for a short-time would be OK.
Its just those stupid sexpats who keep on raising the price of a cumming.
500 baht paid by a Thai in a park in Thailand is OK but 500 PAID BY A FARANG IS A CRIME!!

GET REAL.
