"The Criminal Court on Wednesday granted the police investigators' request to detain three leaders of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship for seven more days, from Thursday until June 9. They are Veera Musikhapong, Weng Tojirakarn and Korkaew Pikulthong. It is the second time that the court has extended the detention of the three red-shirt leaders.

Police investigators said they need more time to interrogate them and to gather other evidence in cases relating to the anti-government protests. They are being detained at the Naresuan police camp in Phetchaburi province."

The PAD has been allowed to run free for two years while police say they are gathering evidence over who to charge for the airport closing. But the red shirts have been put in jail without charges and without bail while the police say they are gathering evidence. TIA. (This is Abhisit)

This whole issue of why there have been no court cases started against PAD is very confusing. On the one hand, you hear talk that the police are all watermelons, green on the outside and red inside. If that's the case, you would think that the police would be hot to prosecute Sondhi and PAD. But the cases against PAD are now dead for almost two years. Does that make sense if the police are so pro-red shirt ?
