It was actually chilly at Dongtan beach today, with a brisk breeze and temperatures in the mid-70's F (24 C).
Not many people in the water and lots of goose bumps on guys getting massages.

"Cold weather in Thailand will last for a few more days only, according to the Meteorological Department.

Suparerk Tansrirattanawong, the head of the meteorological department, the weather will be warmer starting from Dec 24, and will be like that for five to seven days.

Whether it will be cold again or not, Mr Suparerk said it depends on high pressure from China.

The area with the lowest temperature in Thailand is at Doi Inthanon, Chiang Mai, where the temperature is as low as 3 degrees Celsius this morning."

It was uncomfortably cool today at Jomtien Beach as I showed off my new thong, with brisk winds and temps in the low 70's. I gave up after 30 minutes and had to sit with my shirt and shorts on.

The cold spell continues.

Great weather but yes to cold for a beach massage. So today I took the massage boy I liked so much to my room for an inhouse massage. He warmed me up good. I like this weather it reminds me at a nice cool spring evening in Europe.
I am planning to order a open fire place for my condo unit at vieuw kileey condo number 60.

oh, so comfortable at Jomtien beach today.. many boys wearing jackets and I had a marvelous
massage, althou when my massage guy used his bare feet, I realized how chilly it actually was and
my feet were cold as well..If it had been cloudy instead of sunny, it would have been chilly instead of
just cool..

lovely breezes everywhere and often quite windy.. it is winter, the cold season, enjoy it..
try wearing long pants at nite and even consider wearing socks.. long sleeve shirts another option
but the short short wearers and the sleeveless tight shirts guys probably will just grin and bear it... tongue.gif

As somebody who usually gets to Pattaya in April and May, I have trouble imaging "chilly" Pattaya. It just does not compute.

For those expats there all the time, is this winter weather better or worse for enjoying Pattaya ?

It is high season now, because the weather is so delightful and comfortable.. For those who live in places
like Pattaya year round, this is the best time of the year weatherwise..
You don't need to use air conditioning at nite and the days are comfortable and not humid..
Jomtien beach was wonderful today but in April you may not think so on days when there is no breeze..

Northern Thailand is experiencing a cold spell and strong winds are cooling things off..

April ,by the way, is the hottest month and the one when the schools are closed due to the heat..
The hottest months in Europe and the USA are July and August but these months are in the rainy season in Thailand , when heavily clouded skies and frequent rains make it much cooler and more comfortable than in April..
End of March and first half of May are also very hot and humid.. Bangkok stays much hotter than
Pattaya as big cities hold heat in and should be avoided in April in my humble opinion..come to Pattaya
anytime for the time of your life...

I find the weather delightful. A cool breeze and less humid weather make Pattaya a very comfortable place to be. At night, it does seem strange to see the Thais in hooded-sweatshirts and parkas.
