The Thai Department of the Interior has a traveling road show that's been going around cities for the purpose of meeting and discussing with expats their rights and complaints about living in Thailand. The details of the recent meeting in Chiang Mai are in the link below.
The most common complaint heard from foreigners living in Thailand is the necessity to check in with immigration every 90 days when you have not moved or changed addresses. It was suggested that the reporting requirement only apply to expats who move. The Thsi also promised to lookinto the concept of reporting by internet, which is something they have been promising for years now.
One interesting aspect of the meeting was the statement that expats who marry Thais are eligible to inherit one rai of land ( 10 rais if agricultural) if their Thai spouse dies. I wonder if that would apply to a gay guy if you married a Thai guy in Europe or one of the states in the USA that has gay marriage.
