Contary to earlier statements, the junta-appointed government appears to have made another u-turn on a former Thaksin program: cheap laptops for school kids.
According to the report below, Thailand is still considering going forward with the program, which was originally cancelled by the junta's education minister as too expensive.

I am glad to see the government has reconsidered. Maybe Bill Gates can contribute to the program?

I fear that, unless something like the Gates Foundation comes up with the money, this program may get the axe quietly with no fanfare by simply not funding anything more than a token program.
